::'''11. Morality, Fear and Love
::What should I say? The moment I think about man, the thought of thousands of eyes comes to my mind - the eyes into which I have peeped. Remembering those eyes that I have seen, saddens me.. What I have seen, pierces into my heart like thorns. What I had expected to see and what I actually saw. The search of happiness gave him sorrow and depression. The search of light gave him darkness His search for the Divine led him to sin. What has gone wrong with man? His life does not seem to be life at all. Where there is no peace, no music, and no ecstasy-there is lifelessness. Can a life of anarchy and agony be called 'life'? It is not life. It can only be called a nightmare, a state of unconsciousness and an endless series of pains. Certainly, it is not life. It is a long disease that ends in death. We die before we start living. Taking birth is a different thing. Only a few are fortunate enough to attain to Life.
::How only those, who realize God in themselves as well as in 'all', attain to Life? In the absence of this experience, we are only body; and body is inert; not Life. One who takes himself as a body alone, though alive, does not know what life is. Such a being has not yet been introduced to the beginning-less and endless stream of life and without that introduction, there is no happiness. The self- ignorance is misery. The self realization enlightens the man's heart. Its absence is bound to cause darkness on his path. If it is there one becomes divine and if it is not there, man is worse than an animal.
::Those who do not experience any truth beyond their body, transcending it, can not rise above the animal instinct. Upward journey begins only when one experiences some light of life ascending from the perimeters of the earthly body. That which appeared to be nature before, turns into Divinity.
::And then, when there are unrest, anxiety, misery, darkness and ignorance in side us, naturally they start spreading their germs all around in the atmosphere. Whatever there is within, the same spreads without. The 'within', the 'inward, comes forth as one's behavior. Whatever we are inside, the same we share in our interrelations. Every one is throwing out oneself every moment. We are giving ourselves through our thoughts, speech and conduct. Thus whatever comes out from people's heart, takes the shape of society. If society is poisonous, its seeds must be hidden in the people and if society wishes nectar, its seeds also need to be sown in the individuals. If your heart is full of ecstasy, it will smack of love, friendship and compassion in your personal relations also. And, depression and misery in heart beget violence, jealousy and hatred. If your heart is brimming with the music of life, it spreads song and music outside too. Similarly, a sad and crying heart will echo nothing but sadness and sorrow through his thoughts and behavior. This is quite natural. Only the life of one, who has attained to happiness, can become love.
::And, love alone is ethics Lovelessness is unethical. Love is deep. Deeper one goes into love, higher one rises in divinity. And one who is opposite to love, he is meaner than an animal. Love is the quintessence of a pious, ethical life. Christ says, "Love is God". When someone asked St. Augustine "What should I do? How should I live a sinless life?" He had said, "Love. And then whatever you will do, will be righteous, pious". In this one word 'Love', is hidden all that leads man from animal to divinity, But you should remember that love is possible only when there is happiness within. Love can not be imposed from outside. It is not a clothing that we can cover from outside. It is our soul. It has to be invented. It is not to cover- it is to be unfolded, manifested. It is not an imposition. It is an advent. Love is not a doing Love is a state of consciousness in which one has to be. It is true only when it becomes your nature. Then only it becomes the base of a divine life. It is also to be remembered that an ethical life in the absence of spontaneous love can not take one towards the divinity, for, that is not truth at all. Such love has its foundation in fear and greed whether that fear or greed is earthly or heavenly. If you call yourself ethical or a moralist out of fear of hell or as a lure for heaven, I would call it neither ethical nor holy. That may be a probable bargain, not the truth. An ethical life is spontaneously unconditional. There is no question of "take" in it - it is only a spontaneous living borne out of love and ecstasy. Its accomplishment lies in that only - not beyond that. Just as light emanates from the sun, piety and virtue emanate from ecstasy.
::I am reminded of a strange scene. St. Rabiya was going running through a market. She was bearing a burning torch in one hand and a water-full of pintcher in the other. People stopped her and asked "Why are you carrying this torch and the pitcher and where are you running to?" That Rabiya had said, "I am going to burn the heaven and drown the hell so that all the impediments obstructing your religious path are removed". I too agree with Rabiya and wish to burn the heaven and drown the hell. In fact, no life with real moral values is or can be founded on fear and allurement. In this way only a false vision of an ethical life is created. It does not lead to the evolution of the spirit. On the other hand it is deceitfulness. This kind of base of a false moral life has eradicated the expansion of knowledge and consequently immorality has made itself clear and naked. The recognition of heaven and hell seem hollow and as a consequence their attraction and fear have also disappeared. The main reason for immorality and lawlessness today is this only. Not the ethical values but the very inkling of the ethical values has vanished. And, in a way, it is a good omen as we have come out of an illusion.
::But this has burdened us with huge responsibilities also and this responsibility is of finding a new base for a righteous and disciplined life. Such a base had always been there. The insights of Mahavira, Buddha, Christ or Krishna are not founded on false ethical images. Their foundation has been laid not on fear or allurement but on love, wisdom, and happiness. Morality founded on love is to be renovated and re-established. For, without its renovation ethics has no future. Morality based on fear, is long dead. If ethical value based on love is not born, there remains no alternative before us but to go unethical. Now, man can not be fed on morality with force. His intellectual maturity does not accept superstitions.
::I see entrance in love. From that entrance alone, lost holiness and morality can take re-birth.
::But in man, love for all comes only when happiness has happened within. Therefore, the main question is that of an experience of ecstasy. If one is happy within, love is inevitable in behavior. Love is the light of ecstasy and ecstasy is the by product of self realization. One who is unaware of ones own ultimate being, can not attain to bliss. Realizing oneself is bliss, and, therefore 'knowing oneself' is in fact, the path to be ethical and noble. As soon as one knows oneself, the melody of blissfulness becomes audible, and light of wisdom spreads. And, then you start seeing in all what you have seen within yourself. The moment you realize the atom of your own self, you have realized the ultimate entity of all. When you see your own self in all, love is born and there is no revolution and splendor greater than love. Nothing is holier and no achievement is greater than love. One, who has experienced love, has achieved life.

11. Morality, Fear and Love
What should I say?
How only those, who realize God in themselves as well as in 'all', attain to Life? In the absence of this experience, we are only body; and body is inert; not Life. One who takes himself as a body alone, though alive, does not know what life is. Such a being has not yet been introduced to the beginning-less and endless stream of life and without that introduction, there is no happiness. The self- ignorance is misery. The self realization enlightens the man's heart. Its absence is bound to cause darkness on his path. If it is there one becomes divine and if it is not there, man is worse than an animal.
Those who do not experience any truth beyond their body, transcending it, can not rise above the animal instinct. Upward journey begins only when one experiences some light of life ascending from the perimeters of the earthly body. That which appeared to be nature before, turns into Divinity.
And then, when there are unrest, anxiety, misery, darkness and ignorance in side us, naturally they start spreading their germs all around in the atmosphere.
And, love alone is ethics Lovelessness is unethical. I am reminded of a strange scene.
But this has burdened us with huge responsibilities also and this responsibility is of finding a new base for a righteous and disciplined life.
I see entrance in love. From that entrance alone, lost holiness and morality can take re-birth.
But in man, love for all comes only when happiness has happened within.
