Search Osho's words

There are many engines to search in Osho's words, i.e. enter some search criteria and find where Osho talks about those concepts.

For searching Osho's English texts, the best three we have found are:

The CD-ROM (Off-line, Free)

The classical choice. See this page for background: Osho Books on CD-ROM.

It works on Windows PCs, incl. Windows 11, and on Macs using Parallels or Bootcamp to run Windows.

It works off-line, has good search capabilities, and the results are shown in context of the whole discourse. Disadvantage: results are shown in alphabetical order of book-titles, not by relevance.

It can be downloaded from oshofragrance.org/search_osho_literature.

To install the program:

Place the file <English Osho Literature Searchable.exe> anywhere on your harddrive, e.g. in a directory C:\OshoBooks\

To search:

Click on Advanced Query (bottom left) or do <F2>.

Fill in the words you want to search for. The program will search for any paragraphs that have all these words. The right panel shows the number of hits.

Do OK to search. the main screen shows the first hit.

Do <F4> to jump to the next hit, or <F5> for the next partition hit.

Osho Books Library (Off-line, Free)

Based on the texts of the CD-ROM, and runs in the software Obsidian.

Works on Windows PCs, Apple Mac, and on Linux systems.

It works off-line, has good search capabilities, and the results are shown in context of the discourse. Disadvantage: results are shown in alphabetical order of book-titles, not by relevance.

It has the best search capabilities that we have found: presents hits in context, and shows the most relevant hits first.

click Search
